Rupert Moss-Eccardt

Policing and security expert Rupert Moss-Eccardt lives in Ely, grew up in the Fens and used to live in Cambridge. He will take effective action to cut crime as our new Police Commissioner.

Rupert’s record of public service in Cambridgeshire has included:
• . County Councillor 2005-2011
• . Member of Cambridgeshire Fire Authority
• . Independent Custody Visitor
Rupert’s professional expertise makes him ideally suited to the role of Police & Crime Commissioner for Cambridgeshire: . At Centrex, the predecessor of the National Policing Improvement Agency, Rupert was head of Service Management, Technology. Rupert was part of the team that established the National Centre for Policing Excellence. Rupert is now a consultant specialising in Information Assurance and Security Giving the police more and more draconian and disproportionate powers is not the way to cut crime.
I have worked with some of the best police officers in the world. They are
the ones who are contemptuous of gimmicks, gadgets and extra
powers, and instead do a good job by performing to the highest
standards.
